the beginning of course!

wow and whew! I am so happy I was able to complete the TLC challenge. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would but it is defintely worth it! Thank you so much, the exercises really showed me that i have a lot to learn and that it can be fun to be up-to-date on things like these. My favorite ones were del.icio.us, facebook, youtube, animoto, and the image generators. I am sure i will use these and more in the long run.

Thanks for all the time and effort put into this! and yes, i will participate in more discovery programs in the future!

LovE FaceBook

I really love facebook, i am able to keep in touch with so many people that
i might not have since they are so far away...so add me as a friend if you like! :)

podcast on bloglines

funny...when i used these two in a sentence, i am still shocked at the new language TLC is teaching. I bet if I come home and tell my parents about them, they would have no idea what i am talking about. Anyway, I added a new RSS feed on my bloglines, it's a podcast about learning how to play the guitar. There are a lot of useful things on podcast but I still prefer learning about things face2face instead of putting on a headset and listening.

It under a folder named podcasts:

Youtube is pretty neat, maybe we can make a TS video for LRITC. :)

ConGrats Kathleen!!!

WAHOOO!!! My animoto video is my hooray for catching up with all the TLC.2.0! Special thanks to Arlene who helped me every so often and listened to all my ramblings about my conflicting thoughts about TLC, Daphnee for showing me that even if she accidentally deleted hers, it's possible to redo everything even better, and Kathleen for introducing and showing me around Animoto. In the Ish world, all 3 of u win the Blog Bling Award. Thanks!!!

Feed Finds

hmmmm....i like Blogline's Search tool best, probably cuz I like how the layout is and it's familiar since I'm already on bloglines.

Feedster has a different feel to it....maybe I'll use it if I get tired of Blogline.

Back to Bloglines

I skipped this one before so here goes....

Bloglines are useful, I'm just not much of a news reader which is bad bad bad and so I think this will help me be more up-to-date if I add reading my bloglines to my habits-to-be list. good luck to me....wait, what's my password again? jk.

I signed up to the NUMBER ONE Philanthropy Site. It's neat cuz aside from being informed and able to easily sign petitions...you can send e-cards wherein donations are made everytime you send them! :) Maybe we can set up a way where we can send each other e-cards among the library employees (birthdays, graduations, etc)...it won't help us much but it will others.
As for the Web 2.0 awards, I'll explore this site more for sure. bookmark!

Zoho yeah!

I like it! I can save documents without a flash drive! I published mine below, it's one of my favorite quotes.

I also tried importing some powerpoint slides but it said it exceeded the limit so I guess I see two disadvantages to using zoho....it can't save as much and you need access to the internet. oh, and there aren't as much fonts to choose from. Still, it 's pretty useful. I even saved my hard worked acquisitions manual just in case a hurricane comes and I need another avenue to save it beside the shared and personal file.

Our Sandbox

okay, I added my blog under Favorites, it's right under Daphnee's new one (which by the way rocks!, you guys have to see her blog http://dsainvil02.blogspot.com)

I also added one of my fave movies, easter parade. hmmm, i guess that's it. I've never edited a wiki before so this was a good experience. I'm sure within time our sandbox wiki will have lots of kids playing in it soon, fun!

So that's a Wiki

I didn't even know Wikipedia was a wiki....i use it so often! (no worries, i don't use them on my school papers, my professors tell me often enough) That's why it's called WIKIpedia--duh ish.

"A Wiki is a quick-to-build, easy-to-edit website on which all information can be edited, changed, or rewritten by the users or members of the site. It is an incredibly useful tool for collaborative writing, pooling knowledge or exchanging ideas, especially on a subject that changes or needs updating frequently. The word "Wiki" comes from the Hawaiian phrase "wiki wiki", which is commonly used to indicate something fast." We are all authors!

I really liked Library Success: A Best Practices
It's really a social network because the topics were extensive and the format was very similar to wikipedia. Very clean and easy to use. I plan to be a librarian maybe as my 2nd or 3rd career (although I have yet to figure out my 1st!) but when I do, I shall contribute to this one. This application can help libraries share their knowledge and experiences with each other.

LibRary 2.0

Where I grew up (Philippines), i thought libraries are a 0.0. My concept of a library was this tiny stuffy and dusty room filled with uniteresting books that I was forced to go to because our teacher asked us to. I was spoiled and I took libraries for granted. It was a boring place.
Last night I watched this movie "The Ulimate Gift", there was a scene there where there was this libray that looked like a shack in a really remote area in Mexico. There wasn't a lot of books and yet all the poor villagers saw it as a special place.
Today, I am very blessed to be working in one of the most beautiful up-to-date libraries in the world...i mean it is 1st world, 1st class and I will never say libraries are boring again. Still, I find it weird that at this stage we see ourselves as outdated when the rest of the world hasn't even reached the point of having computers in their libraries or owning as much books as we do. Anyway....Library 2.0 is way past what I thought libraries can be. I really like the perspective "To a temporary place in time" and "to more powerful ways to cooperate". Libraries are communities...one that I am very happy to be part of.

Technorati

okay...this one-not so useful since I am more of a talker than a blogger. I like to write about my life but not so much that i spend more time writing about it than living it. Same goes with reading other blogs, I like keeping in touch with my friends personally where you know who is the speaker and listener...the concept of blogging is great but it shouldn't replace taking the time to be w/ each other face2face.

I tried searching different topics on technorati but it was still messy to me and not as user-friendly as it seems to boast. Maybe it's just me...

I'll paste it here just in case someday i find use for it.

Del.icio.us

T A G

The name doesn't really fit but the concept is AWESOME. I can't wait to go about the next sevaral days and tag away! It is VERY easy and I can see myself being more efficient at work, school, and web surfing. The social part I think comes later and I'll blog about that once I find more about it. I watched the YouTube tutorial by Lee and I thought it was really cool how he explained it without using fancy computer work. I like the little papers, the string, the drawings, and just plain hand gestures.

The only thing I thought was off is the way it looked, i don't like the logo or the name. Still, I see myself using it a lot from now on. TAG!

Rollyo

gosh, Rollyo was a bit confusing but I can see the use for it. I made one for all my NSU searchings as a student. Mine is on the top right hand side. I wonder why it's called Rollyo...

http://rollyo.com/index.html

library thing - my first html

cute name...hmmm, i'm still not sure how i can utilize this but I'll look into it again some more. i did as you can see posted my 1st html!
I tried finding some of the books i like but it wasn't there...maybe cuz the author is from the Philippines? His name is Bo Sanchez.

skipping

I am skipping the bloglines cuz it is taking forever to get my confirmation email....i am also skipping ( as in the verb) cuz these image generators are beyond cool....i shall tell all my friends about it.
they were pretty easy to use :)
I'm gonna paste the rest of the links here 2 so my friends can see it later

TecHnoL-Oh-Gee

As you see, I took a month off from blogging cuz technology is overwhelming....add life + work + school...and goodness, my TLC 2.0 challenge is on the bottom of my to do list.

Am I suppose to talk about Flicker and Technology or just technology? well I mentioned Flicker so i guess that covers it....

I just had my computer upgraded to Microsoft 2007 and WOW, that's another thing to learn....but you know what? it's all about attitude and I choose to see all these upgrades and new techno language as something I am lucky enough to be learning. If I complain, just ignore me, it'll pass...

I Pickr Green

Wow, Flickr Color Pickr is really cool....i can use them for projects i'm sure. I like the greens....since my sister got married last month and I moved into her room, i colored it green, one side is called asparagus and the rest are ice cucumber...i know it's veggies but my room is very zen, i can do yoga. :)

oh, and here's my badge on the right.

"I have" not

I have not been showing much tlc for blogging these past couple weeks I admit. However. I am back and hopefully I can catch up with all that I've missed. (lol, Arlene has been rooting me on cuz though I have not been doing it, I thought about it many times... so here we go!)

Flicker is pretty much like snapfish which is what I use to store my pictures aside from facebook. I am not opening an account cuz I will just forget....it took me some time to find my passwords to blog here again. SO anyway, there were some pretty unique pictures in there, some were a bit disturbing like creepy faces but I enjoyed browsing through the shots people have chosen to capture. I really like the one called "I have"

http://www.flickr.com/photos/hiromy/1552407231/

It's a coffee cup with the reflection of a lightbulb. It's a lampshade really but still I can imagine what the person taking it is thinking when he/she captured it...you know when you just sit down, take a moment, breath, relax and suddenly you have an idea? I love that moment...it's a like a spark and you feel a lil bit more alive! So I guess this is my blog....hope everyone who reads this is blessed with more "i have an idea" moments. :)
